DOWNED POWER LINES: Early Tuesday morning the driver of a bread truck from the Metroplex fell asleep on Highway 377 near the Dudley Bros. Ranch headquarters. The truck, traveling east, struck a sign on the median side and crossed over into a field south of the highway striking a power transmission pole. The pole snapped at the top, downing several power lines. The driver was trapped inside his truck and Comanche Volunteer Firemen used the Jaws of Life and other emergency equipment to remove him from the wreckage. He suffered a leg injury and was transported to Comanche County Medical Center. TXU workers on the scene reported damage to several other poles along the line. Service was disrupted to some television and Comanche Electric Cooperative customers. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m.
