Change your clock, change
your battery
By Kevin Burch, Fire
Marshal
This weekend when we all change the time on our clocks
again is the perfect time to change the battery in your
smoke alarms.
We all get so busy in life that we forget to do the one thing
that can mean the difference between life and death changing
the battery in the smoke alarm. Each household should have at
least one smoke alarm for each bedroom, and also near any function
area like the kitchen or utility room.

Prospects

Deer season opens Saturday
By Mike Alexander
Deer season opens on Saturday, November 5. Hunting should be
good this year because the deer are hungry and will be coming
to feeders and food plots.
I believe the rain came just in time to help the wildlife make
it until spring. Hopefully, we will receive more rain and have
a good fawn crop next year. Antler development is surprisingly
good, but I am seeing a lot of bucks with antlers under the 13
inch spread. Remember to abide by the antler restriction and
let the small bucks grow up.
There are turkey in areas with good habitat, but very few quail.
