The Comanche County Pow Wow is this weekend in the Comanche City Park! Entry is $5 and this year credit cards are accepted at the gate.
Are you interested in joining us as a contestant for one of the hottest challenges around? Sign with the Comanche Chamber to be a competitor in our Beat the Heat- Pepper Eating Contest. The contest will consist of eating progressively spicy peppers until only one person is left standing. If more than one person finishes all levels, then the winner will be decided by a final timed challenge. Milk will be provided, but no relief from the heat will be allowed until you either tap out or win it all! Did we mention the winner will receive a cash prize?!
Also, Pow Wow After Hours will feature Matthew Ryan, Ariel Hutchins and Wynn Williams! Music will begin at 2:00 p.m. and go till 8:30 p.m. Admission to the 41st Annual Pow Wow will get you into the concert.
The Lone Star BBQ society and the Comanche County Pow Wow present the annual Barnie McBee Cook-off sponsored by Central Texas Farm Credit. There will be belt buckles for Grand and Reserve Cooks. The cook-off will be Saturday, September 24th in the Comanche City Park. There will also be cash prizes of $200 added money, 80% payback, first through 5th and all meat categories and cash awards in all divisions.
Plans for the 34th annual Comanche County Car Club Car are in full swing. The Car Show is held in conjunction with the Comanche County Pow-Wow and the Car Club is currently securing businesses, individuals and organizations to sponsor awards and donate prizes. This week the Comanche County Car Club received a call from Colorado inquiring about the details before they bring their 10 cars! The Car Club members have stuffed the goody bags for car exhibitors. There are 50 awards given at the Comanche County Car Show which draws 200-300 classic and antique car to Comanche the fourth weekend in September. And, we strive to give every participant a prize! The Car Show will be held on September 24, 2022.
The Comanche County Tractor and Engine Show will once again be held during the 41st Annual Comanche County Pow-Wow on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 9:30 am. For the show, tractors, engines and machinery should be in the Comanche City Park by 9:30 am. The park is located on the west edge of Comanche, Texas.
