Fall is in the air, school has begun in the Mercantile’s Homestead Hall classes are going great guns.

Our next chair class starts at 6 p.m. with the students choosing their chair for the project. Then the fun begins with sanding and smoothing. Color and paint styles will be reviewed and selected. Thus the refinishing and restyling of the chair begins. Four total sessions will create a unique chair for the students’ home, office or surprise placement.

The commercial kitchen awaits appliances. Covid 19 has impacted the appliance industry, according to Robert Cobb. Most parts required to assemble a cook range are made in China thus we wait. China seems to be slow on much these days. Comanche Mercantile encourages purchasing from local vendors!

Also on the schedule for September are Anette the Scrapbook Gal on September 24th making a Christmas Advent Box,” “Painting Screens with Friends” on September 28th and “Painting Pumpkin Jars” on Saturday, September 26th.

By the way, Beth Martin is the Create Just a Chair” class teacher! Call Beth 325-356-0037 to sign up. The class is limited to six students.

Thanks to all our instructors and students. Classes are being well received by the community.
