On September 17, the Comanche County Art Association met for the first meeting of the 2019-2020 year. June Musick from Brownwood did a demo of pen and ink and talked to us about various types of pens, inks, and papers. She passed out Bristol board and let everyone experiment with the various pens. She sketched members attending the meeting while everyone enjoyed refreshments.
June moved to Brownwood from Lubbock and has become very active with the art community there. She paints fast and with lots of passion and humor. This is apparent in some of the artwork she brought to the meeting. Her idea of art is to paint everything. She has a “tool bag” she carries with her at all times that includes pens, brush, and watercolors. It all fits in a small camera case. Look on the CCAA website for photos of her demonstration and other information and photos: www.comanchecoartassociation.weebly.com.
Doug Prine western artist from Nemo, Texas, was scheduled to do the demonstration. He was unable to come. Our plan is that he will be the guest artist for our next meeting on October 22. That was the date that June Musick was to do her demonstration. She graciously agreed at the last minute to switch and come in September.
