Randy Stephens is digging peanuts on the RPS Farm and Ranch near De Leon, Texas. The peanuts are yielding about 6,000 pounds per acre on 160 acres. The variety of peanut is a Georgia- 16 HO Runner. This variety has become very popular due to its high yields and quality. “It has been to find places to raise peanuts due to the prolonged drought, said Stephens. “We are farming with half the water we had in the 80s and 90s.”
