The Comanche County Texas A&M Extension Office will be hosting Trapping and Wildlife Education classes beginning Friday, June 14th at 5:30 PM. Local Army Veteran and life-long wildlife trapper, Jim Smith, will be conducting the classes for our 4-H members. This will be a five-week session. The classes will include trapping safety and licensing information, making and setting traps, wildlife identification, humane practices, and much more. Not only is trapping fun, but trapping has always been an important skill. Trapping can also lead to future employment opportunities. There will be indoor classrooms as well as outdoor, hands-on activities. There are also many competition opportunities that are related to the classes. The classes are open to 4-H members 3rd grade and above. There is a limit of 12 students so please contact the Comanche County Extension Office today to reserve a spot. Non-4-H members may call to be put on a waiting list if there are openings. Class dates are set for June 14th, 21st, 28th and July 12th and 19th. Comanche County Extension Office 325-356-2539.
