There have been 15 new active Covid-19 cases added to our totals and our local health authorities were able to clear 1 of our previous cases from isolation. This brings our total positive cases for Comanche County to 75, with 50 of those cases currently active.

This drastic increase in numbers has now caused Comanche County to reach the threshold number of cases allowed before we lose our attestation I filed with the state. Our businesses (retail and restaurant) will have to scale back their occupancy levels. We are currently waiting on the Texas Department of Emergency Management and the Texas Department of State Health Services, along with the Governor’s office, to send us notification outlining the exact changes Comanche County will have to make. As soon as we receive our guidelines, we will share it with all of you.

You will notice our local health authorities have added additional information for our positive cases in Comanche County. We are now providing information regarding the age group and gender of our positive cases since March 28, 2020.

Comanche Community spread is of concern in Comanche County and is being investigated and traced with each case at this time.

Local health authorities are asking residents to take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. Precautions include wearing masks in public to protect both the wearer and the others around them. Wash hands regularly and use hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of 60 percent or more. Observe social distancing and sanitize surfaces regularly. The precautions become more important as community spread is of concern in Comanche County. We are seeing numbers rise in our county, several of our neighboring counties, and across the state of Texas in general. Please be aware what is happening in other counties you travel to.
