A giant American flag was attached to one of Willis Towing’s boom trucks this weekend on the south side of the historic square. A floral wreath was place on the steps on the courthouse Monday to honor the fallen. The wreath was placed there by the Comanche Noon Lions Club.

Around 60 youngsters competed at the Gustine, Texas Junior Rodeo each night Thursday through Saturday, May 21-23. This was the 60th Annual Gustine Rodeo and a good time was had by all. Below are the 2020 buckle winners.

Comanche VFD and Proctor VFD responded to a grass fire near Hasse on Saturday, May 23. There was some difficulty getting to the fire, but our local fire fighters prevailed. Thanks to these local volunteer fire departments for their work—especially on a holiday weekend.

On Friday, May 15 the atmosphere was building up for some thunderstorms in Comanche County and the surrounding area and build up it did. Around midnight on Friday the wind and lighting strike built up along with the much needed rain which lasted into Saturday morning.
