From Comanche Roping Club

Comanche Roping Club will host the October Bull Challenge and Comanche Rodeo Club 4-H will host the 4D Monster Dash Barrel racing all this weekend, October 12 and 13 at the Comanche Rodeo Arena located on Hwy 377/67 on the west side of Comanche. Saturday is bull riding and goat roping. Sunday afternoon is Barrel Racing, pet activities including costume contest, and pony rides. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. at the Comanche Rodeo Arena, Goat Roping starts at 6:00 p.m. Saturday night will cap off with free dancing to Tejano Pride at the arena dance floor.

The Bull Challenge features four individual competitions. Ten bull contractors will compete for best string of bulls. Featured will be PBR’s 2019 World Champion Velocity Bull Team owned by Jacob Knapp. The Bull Protection Compitition is two-man teams of Rodeo Bull Fighters competing to control the bull and protect the competitors. And of course, the Bull Riding competition is the highlight. Competing for over $1,500 approximately 30 bull riders from all across the state will perform.

At 6:30 the arena will heat up with Junior Bull Riding. Twelve of the top cowboys in Texas will compete for $600 of prize money. Entrants include 2019 AJRA World Champion Bull Rider and sons of 1985 World Champion and 1980 Rookie of Year in the PRCA.

Goat roping for everyone with unlimited entries, Sunday, October 13, the 4-H Rodeo Club will host a fun filled family entertainment afternoon; proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Centered around a 4D Barrel racing with youth division, prizes to best dressed rider and horse. Other activities will include dog show at 2:00 p.m., pet costume contest, dog agility course, and pony rides. Barrel Exhibitions begin at 1:00 p.m. and jackpot at 4:00 p.m.

Concessions will include Hamburger meals and all the fixings. No glass containers.
