CHS SkillsUSA students Elian Olvera and Randy Licea speak with Chase Savage from Congressman Mike Conaway’s office in the Sam Rayburn Building in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, September 24. The boys are attending the Washington Leadership Training Institute with their SkillsUSA sponsor Eddy Parker. SkillsUSA offers advanced training for students and advisors that focuses on professionalism, communication and leadership skills. This training is held in Washington, D.C., and allows members the opportunity to share their SkillsUSA and career and technical experiences while discussing the importance of and thank them for their support of the Carl Perkins CTE Funding with elected officials. They visited Gettysburg and Mount Vernon, as well as the newly opened Washington Monument, the MLK, Jr. Monument, the Capital and the White House.
