U.S. Representative Mike Conaway attracted a good crowd for his Town Hall Meeting last Wednesday at the Depot/Chamber on South Austin. Questions from the audience included sales of assault rifles, the impact of the internet (violent video games) on the minds of young people, and questions concerning the detention centers on the border. According to some in attendance, when remarks from some in the attendance became heated, Rep. Conaway answered in a calm and thoughtful manner. According to some, they thought Rep. Conaway addressed some of those who were stating their opinions, etc. in an abrupt manner. Rep. Conaway is retiring after this term.
