On July 29, 2020 there are 4 new active Covid-19 cases. Our Local Health Authorities were able to clear 14 of our previous cases from isolation. This brings our total positive cases for Comanche County to 227 with 46 of those cases currently active throughout Comanche County.

The Comanche Market will be held this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Vendors will be setup on the Comanche Square on Saturday, August 1. There will be COVID-19 precautions in place including extra space between booths and asking visitors and vendors to please practice social distancing.

On the night of July 21st, 2020 a theft occurred at a cabin in the 5900 block of Hwy 6, in De Leon. The suspect or suspects removed several firearms from a gun safe located in the cabin.

July 25, 2020 5:30PM The Comanche County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 2900 Block of Hwy 2921 in the Oliver Springs Community of Northern Comanche County.  It was reported that there were three deceased individuals at the location and the caller was admitting to shooting them.

A wildland fire started on July 14, 2020 on CR 328 on the Double B River Ranch with Comanche VFD, Gustine VFD and a tender from Proctor VFD. The fire was thought to be started by electric line on the ranch.

Smoke from over 2,500 acre wildfire moves into Comanche County. The massive wildfire west of Goldthwaite, Texas near the Regency Bridge has burned up over 2,500 acres. Some parts of Comanche County saw the smoke and could smell it Tuesday afternoon on July 14, 2020.

During the week of July 4th 2020 several thefts have occurred at various residences in Gustine. Items ranging from portable fuel cans to towing equipment have been stolen from garages and outbuildings in the area. It is believed that the thefts occurred between the hours of 10:00 PM and 2:00AM.
