The Primary Runoff Election for the Republican and Democratic Elections will be held on July 14, 2020. If you are not already registered to vote you must be registered by June 15, 2020. Call the Voter Registrar, Grace Everhart, to register to vote or you may register on line at www.votetexas.gov .
Early voting begins on June 29, 2020 and ends on July 10, 2020. Early voting will be conducted for 12 hours from 7 am to 7 pm on June 29 and July 10, 2020. The remainder of the early voting period June 30 thru July 3, 2020 early voting hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm. July 3rd is a holiday with no early voting. July 6 thru July 9 early voting hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Early voting will be conducted at the Courthouse Basement Room B 102.
The Comanche Community Center in Comanche, 100 Indian Creek Dr. and the DeLeon City Hall 125 S. Texas Street will be the polling locations on Election Day, July 14, 2020. The hours of voting will be 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Applications for a ballot may be requested from the County Clerk’s Office, 325-356-2655 101 West Central Ave. Comanche, TX 76442. If you are at least age 65, disabled, or expect to be out of the county during early voting and election day you may request to have your ballot mailed out of the county. Applications for a ballot by mail must be received by the County Clerk no later than July 1, 2020.
Candidates for the Republican Runoff Election include; State Representative, District 59, Shelby Slawson and J. D. Sheffield.
Candidates for the Democratic Runoff Election include; United States Senator, Mary “MJ” Hegar and Royce West. Railroad Commissioner, Roberto R. “Beto” Alonzo and Chrysta Castan͂eda.
