Darwin Dickerson has been the Public Works Director for the City of Comanche for the last 25 years and prior to that for 17 years he worked for the Public Works Department doing daily jobs working from the bottom up until being promoted to Director. Totaling 42 years of experience in the department, he will be missed by many.

He was dedicated to the City of Comanche and to other entities around the city. He always did his best to make sure things went smoothly.

At his retirement party on December 31 at the Comanche City Hall building he received some proclamations and awards. Several local and state dignitaries were present along with several community members that were grateful for his work. Also several vendors from Abilene and Fort Worth made the trip down to thank Darwin for his hard work throughout the years.

The Comanche City Hall staff did an excellent job providing refreshments and treats and decorating the office fit for a legend’s retirement.
