Kye Tomlinson was crowned as the 2019 Miss Rodeo Texas Princess on Friday, June 28th at the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant coronation in San Antonio, Texas. Kye is 11 years old, lives in Comanche, TX, and represented as Miss ABC Pro Rodeo Princess during the pageant. She won photogenic, congeniality, speech, the written test, and the prestigious category of horsemanship. In addition to winning an incredible prize package, Kye received a cash educational scholarship from the Miss Rodeo Texas Association, Inc.
Kye likes to sew, dance, riding and playing with her miniature horses and big horses with friends. She loves her church family. She is active in King’s Kids , 4-H Rodeo club, Central Texas Youth Rodeo Association, Local Youth Rodeo, AQHA Youth Member, Texas Longhorn Breeders Association Youth member and a Master of Beef Advocacy.
Kye’s happiest moments are spent running barrels and poles. Her big dreams are to be an NFR barrel racer and someday a “Kye-ropractor”.
As Miss Rodeo Texas Princess, Kye wants to show other kids how exciting rodeo really is and share and celebrate our rodeo and agricultural traditions.
Contestants from all over the state participate in the Miss Rodeo Texas program competing for scholarship awards and other prizes among three age groups vying for their respective crowns. The Miss Rodeo Texas contest consists of pageant winners from 19 to 24 years old. The Miss Rodeo Texas Teen consists of pageant winners from 14 to 18 years old. The Miss Rodeo Texas Princess competition consists of 9 to 13 years old contestants. The selection of each of the rodeo queens is based on horsemanship, interview, speech, appearance, impromptu questions on rodeo knowledge and current events, and personality competitions with the crowning of the winners on coronation night in San Antonio, TX.
