By Comanche County Judge Stephanie Davis

Thank you so much for your public service to the residents of Comanche County. As you know, we live in an area that faces a variety of hazards and threats ranging from tornadoes, flooding, grass fires, and occasional severe winter weather.

As a result, it is important that all public officials throughout Comanche County are trained on emergency preparedness and proper response to these events.

On June 17, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. Greg Goettsch, the District Disaster Coordinator for Disaster District 7 (Abilene District) will be conducting a G-200 Texas Public Officials Workshop for all Comanche County elected and appointed public officials. The workshop will take place in the Comanche High School commons. This 3-hour workshop is designed to introduce public officials and other integral community responders (school administration, fire departments, law enforcement, emergency medical services, etc.) to emergency management in Texas, and, specifically, Comanche

County. **Please note that members of law enforcement can get TCOLE credit for attending.

There is no charge for this workshop or the provided materials, however, each individual is required to personally register prior to attendance. Please follow this link to register for the workshop and ensure you will receive the proper workshop materials:

Your registration is due by Friday, June 14, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.

If you are a member of a governing board and a quorum of your board will be in attendance, in order to actively participate and hold discussion in this special workshop, your board will need to post a Special Meeting Agenda by Friday, June 14, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. listing the G-200 Workshop as an agenda item. This will ensure your board is in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.

Please be advised we will not be serving a meal at the workshop. You are encouraged to bring your own sack meal to eat during the workshop session or scheduled breaks.

If you have any questions regarding this Public Official Workshop, please do not hesitate to contact me at 325-356-2466.
