Comanche High School and H.R. Jefferies Junior High will host the 20th Annual Veterans Day Program in the high school Commons, Gym on Monday, Nov. 11.

Comanche area Veterans and their spouses will be honored with a reception beginning at 8:45 o’clock A.M. in the high school Commons hosted by the CHS Student Council. The program will follow beginning at 9:30 in the high school gym.

Spouses of deceased Veterans will also be honored, introduced, and seated along with the current Veterans during the program in the gym. The spouses are also invited to the reception. Spouses of the current Veterans will also be introduced and seated with the Veterans during the program. They too are invited to the reception.

Each year several students sign up to introduce a veteran. These students feel tremendously privileged and honored to be able to introduce those of you who have served our country in the military. It is the request of the students that as many veterans as possible attend this program and let them show their gratitude for a job well done.

Members of the Comanche Volunteer Fire Department, all Law Enforcement Officers including the Comanche Police Department, Comanche County Sheriff’s Department, and Department of Public Safety Troopers are invited to attend as special guests. Along with these departments other special guests will include: Comanche City Council and City Secretary, Comanche County Commissioners and Comanche ISD School Board Members. These folks will be guests at the reception as well.

Following the program the Veterans, wives, and spouses of deceased Veterans will be invited to eat lunch as special guests at First United Methodist Church in Comanche. First responders Fire Department and Law Enforcement are also invited to eat at the church.
