The family of Janatha Carlisle has entrusted her funeral services to Heartland Funeral Home of Comanche.

The family will celebrate her life in a funeral service 10 AM Thursday September 30, 2021 at the First Baptist Church Comanche followed by graveside committal in the Blanket Cemetery, Blanket, TX. The family will greet friends 6:30 – 8:00 PM Wednesday 29th at the Heartland Funeral Home Comanche. Condolences to the family can be left online at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net

Janatha Dale Williford was born July 1, 1925, on the family farm in Comanche County, TX, to Rea and Fenley Williford. She passed from this world into the arms of Jesus September 25, 2021, at the age of 96 years.

Jan attended and graduated from Blanket High School and married Butler Damron, Jr., in 1943. They became parents to a daughter, Janice Mayree, and son, Jerry Dean, and operated a dairy farm in the Blanket Community. Junior passed away in December 1956.

In December 1960, Jan married F H (Dick) Carlisle and became step-mom to Carolyn Kay and Ovea Lea. They continued living on and operating the dairy for many years.

Jan was pianist for Bethel Baptist Church for over 50 years being very active in her community and the Antioch quilting club. She was then a member of First Baptist Church Comanche for over 25 years. She loved to play dominoes with friends and family, and was an excellent seamstress. She made quilts for all of her kids, grandkids, great grandkids as well as many other friends and family members. Her family was her life and she loved watching her family at whatever they were involved in and was still going to ballgames well into her 80s & 90s. Jan was a very caring, loving, and giving lady who loved the Lord and lived every day as an example to others.

Preceding her in death along with Junior, were her second husband, Dick Carlisle, her parents, Rea & Fenley Williford, her brother Leroy Williford, step-daughter & family, John, Ovea & Bubba White along with numerous extended families.

Jan is survived by daughter, Janice Swearengin, son, Jerry & Brenda Damron, and step-daughter, Carolyn Hall; grandsons, spouses, great grandsons, and granddaughters: Todd & Karla Swearengin, sons Hayden & Tate, Carter & Toni Damron, son Calder, Jana & Jeff Burchard, sons Grayson, Caden, Colson, & Holden, Heather Damron, Haley & Josh Pulliam, daughter Hadley; step-grandson granddaughters & families: Brian & Karen Hall, daughters Tyler, Taylor Seely & husband Trey, Kayla & John Cox, daughter Katelyn & David Otto, and son Ryan Todd, Lacy White & Terry White, and 2 great-great grandkids; sister-in-law, Ethel Williford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
