Gartman

Kenneth Don Gartman left this life to be with our Lord January 28, 2020.

He was born July 12, 1936 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. In 1949 the Gartman family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where Kenneth graduated from High School in 1954. Ken worked as a dry wall contractor, house painter and-then as a plant foreman for Shell Oil Company. He married Carolyne Webb in 1956. They had two children-Kenny and Kathy. In 1969 they moved to McCamey to take a position with Shell Oil Co. where they raised their family. Ken was then transferred to Denver City, TX. and retired from Shell in 1993. He and Carolyne traveled all over the United States. He was multi-talented and a perfectionist. He could build a hot rod from the ground up. Draw plans for a house and then build it. He was happiest when he had a project. Ken was a quiet person with a dry sense of humor and very much a realist He loved his family very much and had a special love for his dog, Toby.

He is survived by his loving wife of the home, Carolyne. A son, Kenny and wife, Laura, of Youngsville, N.C. their three daughters, Kendra, Lacy and Candace and their families.
