Golden

Betty Frances Johnson Golden, 89, a life-long resident of Comanche County, met her Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Betty was born May 8, 1930, in Comanche County to Harvey Euell Johnson and Thursie Ann Land Johnson. She married Seborn Eugene Golden September 10, 1950, in Weatherford.

Betty was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. She deeply loved her church and her church family. Betty was a devoted homemaker for her family. Raising four boys was no easy feat but Betty made it look easy. She was a loving mother and wife who always happily cared for her children and husband. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting and sewing. Betty was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Betty are her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and wife, Jaye, Becky Golden, Johnny and wife, Mary, and Jackie and wife, Gerrie; grandchildren, Eric Eugene Golden, SFC R.J. Newby and wife, Oriana, Ashley Fantauzzi and husband, Josh, Amber Golden Bates and husband, Justin, Matthew Hunter Golden and wife, Meagan, John Cortney Golden, Kimberly Shay Rangel and husband, Jessie, Clay Emory Golden, Lesley DeShay DeLaTorre and husband, Johnny, Taylor Dean Golden and wife, Carissa, Chelsey Christine Golden and husband, Jimmy Phath; brother, Jack Johnson and wife, Nancy; sister-in-law, Ann Johnson; brother-in-law, Joe Bob Browning; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and other extended family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Thursie Johnson; husband, Seborn Eugene Golden; son, Ronnie Seborn Golden; brother and sister-in-law, John Ray Johnson and wife, Doris; brother, Harvey Harold Johnson; and sister, Lauris Ann Browning.

Funeral services celebrating Betty’s life were held Friday, September 20, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Daniel Harper and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Betty was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery beside her husband, Seborn.

Serving as pallbearers were Betty’s grandsons, Eric E. Golden, Matthew Hunter Golden, Justin Bates, Jessie Rangel, Jared Golden, Clay Golden, Taylor Golden, Johnny DeLaTorre, Anthony Beck, Jimmy Phath, John Cortney Golden, SFC R.J.
