Jay Carl Wilson, 59, of Comanche, went home to Jesus, Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at the home of his daughter in Hamilton. His last days were spent with his daughter and two grandsons, he passed in peace. His last wish was to be baptized, which was completed in his daughter’s living room. He was loved and cherished, and will be deeply missed.

Jay was born August 15, 1960, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Hershel and Jean (Vasser) Wilson. He attended and completed his education at a trade school in Oklahoma and was a carpenter by trade. Jay loved working with and making things out of wood. On November 16, 1996, Jay was blessed by a son, Nathen “Nate” Morris, who died May 20, 2006. Jay was blessed knowing Living Hope Outreach pastor, Ed Chapman, who baptized him.

Jay is survived by daughter, Holly, and husband, Jason Gutierrez; grandchildren, Jake Gutierrez, 10, and Coy Gutierrez, 6; sister, Tammi Reed and husband Rex; brother, Micheal Wilson and wife Elva; niece, Bria Hodges, and husband, Jake, with their two children, Jaden and Tyler, and niece, Meagan Wilson. Also, a granddaughter, Morgan Garner, whom he called his Taylor. He was preceded in death by son, Nathen; and parents, Hershel Wilson and Jean Vasser.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Heartland Funeral & Cremations of Comanche. The family will hold a memorial celebration at a later date.
