Allen Woods, loving husband, father, brother and uncle passed away on Saturday November 23, 2019 at the Western Hills Healthcare Residence in Comanche, Texas at the age of 87 years old. Born in Proctor, Texas on April 20th, 1932, he was the son of the late Jay and Mamie Woods.

Allen leaves behind his daughter Joy Sloan and her husband Michael; brother Robert Woods, his wife Larue and sister, Janie Willingham. He is also survived by his brother-in-law W.L. “Dub” Fautheree, sister-in-law Martha Woods, numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Kazuko Miyashita Woods; brother’s Ford Woods, Joy Woods, Ward Woods, sister Mina Fautheree and nephew Jay Woods.

Allen graduated from the class of 1949 from Proctor High School where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. He joined the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam vet while also serving in France and Japan as an airplane mechanic and supervisor. Allen met and married his wife Kazuko in Tokyo, Japan on December 20th, 1962 where the birth of his daughter Joy followed. While in the service he was an avid softball player and bowler. After serving over 23 years in the USAF, he retired in Las Vegas, Nevada at the rank of Master Sergeant. Allen was a slot mechanic at the Western Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada for over 10 years and after the passing of his beloved wife on June 3rd, 1996, he made his home in Proctor, Texas. His remaining years were spent enjoying his country property, visits from family, watching football, helping friends and riding his lawnmower in the pecan fields.
