To Our 2020 Graduates
You are experiencing your final high school days like no other group of graduates in our history, all because of this pandemic, COVID-19. Like it or not, your graduating Class of 2020 will forever be remembered as the class who finished your high school classes at home online . . . the cancellation of all extracurricular activities . . . along with the cancellation of all the traditional graduation events you were looking forward to. You are part of history in the making.
I think I can speak for this community in saying to you, Class of 2020, we are especially proud of your accomplishments, your positive attitude in accepting a number of disappointments and challenges resulting from COVID-19. You have shown a special quality of adaptability, resiliency, and creativity in the face of adversity. All this speaks to how very special the Class of 2020 is, and that, no doubt, we are leaving this country in good hands for the future.
Congratulations, Class of 2020. Best of luck. We are counting on you to do great things. And remember, this community has your back.
This we know, one of these days when you’re a parent, you are more than likely going to say to your children, ”Let me tell you what it was like when I was about to graduate from high school in 2020.”
We would be remiss to not note the support of the Class of 2020 from parents, teachers, coaches, friends, family, and our churches. Thank you to all.
We believe in you, Class of 2020, and can’t wait to hear about all your accomplishments in the future.
Thank you to all of you, our advertisers, our readers, our contributors to this annual Special Graduation Edition. Without your help, it wouldn’t be possible.
We sincerely hope you enjoy this keepsake edition and join us as we keep our graduates, their parents and this community in our hearts and prayers until there are better days ahead. Together we will persevere during this stressful time in our world.
