Dear Editor,

“Fleeting Moments”

Yesterday the little things meant a lot,

I stopped to smell the fragrance of a flower,

Where did the moments go?

Yesterday I trusted in a country,

And knew everyone was born free,

Where did the moments go?

Yesterday our country was founded on belief in God,

In Him only did we trust,

Where have those moments gone?

Yesterday I was poor and didn’t know,

Only one picture hung on our wall,

A picture of the flag and Bible,

A heritage left for all.

Today we are rich in this world’s goods,

The emblems burned or torn down,

Where have the moments gone?

Return to the America God shed His grace on,

Recapture those moments,

Then you’ll know where the moments have gone.
