As a fighter for taxpayers, I want you to pay fewer taxes. Reforming the property tax system has been one of my top priorities since I joined the Texas Senate. That is why I am proud to have voted for Senate Bill 2, which has finally passed the Senate and is on its way to Governor Abbott.

This bill reduces the amount of taxes that local jurisdictions can collect, and ensures more of your money will stay in your pocket rather than in government coffers.

Many additional reforms I have repeatedly fought for are part of this bill, including automatic elections on the uniform election date when tax collections are too high, and a ban on appraisal review boards increasing the value of your property during a protest hearing.
