The Comanche Indians varsity football squad will look to travel a little west on Hwy 377 over to Early to get in the win column.
The Harris Ratings Weekly has the Early Longhorns as a 11 point favorite over the Comanche Indians.
The Indians are coming off back to back big losses, first to the Mason Punchers then last Friday to the Brady Bulldogs. Early is coming off big back to back wins against Bangs and Tolar.
From Head Coach/ AD, Jake Escobar
First of all I would like to thank all the fans, cheerleaders, band members and everyone else that made the trip.
We were very proud of the effort our kids played with Friday night. Even though we were shorthanded our kids never flinched. They kept playing tough and never quit. One of our program goals is for our teams be a sense of pride for our community through their level of play. These young men make us proud every time they put on the Black & Gold. I thought we did a great job of throwing and catching the other night. We had some great effort plays from all of our kids. We started a sophomore running back Easton Gonzalez, he is a young man that was moved up on Wednesday. He did a great job of handling the pressure of playing in a Varsity game on a short notice. Brady was a great pre-season game for us because they are a good football team that will prepare us for district.
This might be the best Early Football team they’ve had in a while. They are 2-0 and have beat 2 quality teams. It will be another great test for our Comanche Indians. They are spread team based out of 3-4 defense. They throw the ball really well and do a great job defensively. Our kids are hungry, and I know they are excited about getting another opportunity to play this great game. Please keep supporting all of our kids, they deserve it.
