1/26/2021 DENVER - The doubles pairing of Celia Vaudiau and Rose Watanabe have been named the TicketSmarter WAC Women’s Tennis Doubles Athletes of the Week for their performance at Sam Houston State last weekend.
The week of firsts for Vaudiau and Watanabe continued by being the first student-athletes in Tarleton State University history to earn WAC and NCAA Division I Player of the Week honors. The duo secured Tarleton’s first-ever team point with a win in the No. 2 flight at Sam Houston State last weekend. The team won a 7-6 (4-0) thriller against Constandena Nicolau and Andrijana Brkic.
Vaudiau followed up by winning the first singles points of Tarleton’s Division I era with a win in the No. 5 flight.
Tarleton will return to action this weekend in Edinburg with a Saturday match against Lamar and their WAC opener against UTRGV Sunday.
